Welcome to my home page. I am full Professor of Internet of Things (IoT) at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Division of Networks and System Engineering, and Director of the Data Science Micro Degree Program, which is an advanced study program on Artificial Intelligence currently dedicated to Ericsson’s researchers worldwide. My main areas of research are applied optimization for wireless and IoT, and machine learning for the IoT. I have also interests in history and entrepreneurship. I am co-founder and chief scientist of the company ELK, which is enabling to connect music and audio over the Internet.
I received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Information Engineering in May 2005 (3/3 years, Optimization in Wireless Networks) and the Laurea degree in Electronic Engineering in April 2001 (Summa cum Laude, 5/5 years, major in Automatic Control and minor in Telecommunications), both from University of L’Aquila, Italy.
I have been also working at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA (2015, Visiting Professor); Harvard University, Cambridge, MA (2015, Associate); and University of California at Berkeley, CA (2004-2005, Visiting Scholar, and 2007-2008, Research Associate).
